Joeseph Heller has written a few books. The one that has a very odd plot is, Catch-22. The story takes place during World War II. The date is roughly Decemeber 1941 or later and located on the island Pianosa, which is located in the Mediterranean. The story starts out where Yossarian, the main character, is in the military hospital. Yossarian could pretty much stay in the hospital cause he has a constant temperature of 101. Since he has the constant fever he can be admitted to the hospital at anytime. Everyone in the story is pretty much crazy but it doesn't really matter as long as they are willing to fly the missions and bomb the targets. The catch-22 is that if you admit that you are crazy you can get out of flying missions but a true crazy person wouldn't think they are crazy so they would never admit it to get out of flying the missions. But if you are sane than you are perfectly capable of flying the missions.
When Yossarian finally leaves the hospital because he is bored with the life of constantly censoring letters before they are mailed out. Outside of the hospital Yossarian stays in a tent on the shoreline of a lake, where the men sometimes swim and wash themselves.
